Gary is a highly respected working dog handler and trainer running 20 – 30 working dog schools a year in Australia and abroad.
He has been trialling dogs since 1992 and has had an impressive career including eight national titles and 22 state titles across the country.
White’s Kelpie Stud, started by Gary's father John (pictured below), in the late 1950s is one of the first established and longest running Kelpie studs in the world.
Known for his warm and inclusive teaching style, Gary aims to give all handlers newfound skills and a greater confidence in training and working with their dogs.
Gary has lived and worked on the land all his life. He grew up surrounded by working dogs and horses in a remote rural community. Working sheep, cattle and feral goats in an inhospitable environment, Gary soon realised the necessity of good working dogs. Mostly working by himself, he was heavily reliant on his team of dogs, which were his work buddies and best mates.
In time he followed his father into a successful dog trialling career, which is the real fun side of working dogs and later branched out and started running working dog schools across Australia and the world.
